Solid Edge Fundamentals

Solid Edge enables users to create better designs faster, with greater confidence. Kaizen PLM provide training which enables the customer to utilise the various features and modules in Solid Edge, further empowering efficiency, and innovation.

 

Our training modules are developed to progressively train the customer with each step being built on the previous, setting a solid foundation to build more demanding skills on. The course will be a combination of presentations, discussions and hands-on activities followed by questions in relation to the trainee's requirements. We will cover all of the basics you will need to effectively design using Solid Edge.

 

Course Content:

  • Sketching – Defining planes, sketch geometry, adding dimensions and sketch relationships

  • Constructing Base Features

  • Working with Face Relationships – Using design intent relationships to control edit behaviour

  • Constructing Treatment Features – Round and blends, chamfers, draft, thin wall or thicken part

  • Constructing Procedural Features – Holes, pattern, feature libraries, mirror

  • Modelling synchronous and ordered features

  • Creating detailed Drawings

 

 

Solid Edge Wiring Design

This course introduces the Solid Edge Electrical Design suite of applications, and helps you understand Solid Edge Wiring Design functionality. We're going to dive into the steps involved in creating, editing, and wiring a schematic design, using this tool. We'll also go through how to use Solid Edge Wiring Design to create mutli-level multicores, daisy chains, highways, stacked pins, and use footprints, as well as some Design Management. Finally, we'll run Design Rule Checks and see how Solid Edge Wiring Design is used to create Machinery Designs.

This course supports designers and engineers working on harness design and manufacturing. Attendees will be introduced to the Solid Edge Electrical Design environments and Solid Edge Harness functionality.


We're going to dive into the steps involved in creating, routing and editing a harness design, using Solid Edge Harness Design tool. We'll also run the relevant validation checks, add dimensions, override styling, generate reports and more, as well as use Design Management.

 

Finally, we'll talk about how Solid Edge Harness Design integrates with other tools, for example to synchronize data from Solid Edge Wiring Design, and bridge in 3D harness data from Solid Edge.
